AlgoSec Offers IP-VPN, Seamless Path for Firewall Migration

Cisco (News - Alert) PIX Security Appliances users can now easily migrate to Cisco’s ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances with the latest offering of AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer Product Suite from AlgoSec Inc, according to the company.

AlgoSec’s Migration solution allows enterprises to verify that no errors or risks are introduced during the upgrade, company officials say.

Designed as a vital component of the Cisco Self-Defending Network, the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances offer intelligent threat defense and secure communications services, company officials say. It is, according to the company, an easy-to-deploy solution that integrates world-class firewall, Unified Communications (News - Alert) security, SSL and IPsec VPN, intrusion prevention, and content security services in a more flexible, modular product family.

Cisco already has declared the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for Cisco PIX Security Appliances, software, accessories, and licenses as July 28. With this deadline approaching, organizations are relying on AlgoSec to maintain compliance through efficient migration, according to the company.

AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer helps to proactively cover Change Management, Risk Management, Automated Audits, Advanced Management and Policy Optimization.
The migration offering is a natural extension of the AFA Product Suite. With its off-line setup, AlgoSec’s application is easy to deploy and use even in the most complex firewall, router and VPN environments, company officials say.

With the AlgoSec migration solution enterprises upgrading from PIX to ASA now can  automate the error-prone and labor-intensive manual task of rule-by rule comparison, according to the company. Proactively ensure business continuity by validating that critical traffic will keep flowing, company officials say.

“At AlgoSec, we strive to provide enterprises the ability to intelligently automate what were until now manual functions. Our migration solution for those enterprises moving from PIX to ASA does just that. It provides enterprises a way to quickly and cost-effectively guarantee that the migration was as planned and maintain the integrity of their security policy,” said Avishai Wool, AlgoSec co-founder and chief technical officer.
