NCP Engineering Now Sole Provider of VPN Client Software for Viigo
NCP engineering GmbH, provider of endpoint security and VPN solutions, has announced that it has become the sole provider of VPN client software for Viigo, the developer of a mobile content and services deliver platform for Windows smartphone and BlackBerry (News - Alert) devices.
The company elected to adopt the NCP Secure Entry Client due to its Windows XP 32/64-bit and Vista 32/64-bit support, as well as the fact that it is completely compatible with all third-party VPN gateways and firewalls.

With the bundled NCP Secure Entry Client, Viigo is provided with a single software solution that integrates data encryption, a dynamic firewall, Friendly Net Detection and one-time password token and certificate support through a public key infrastructure (PKI).
The dynamic firewall enables Viigo to set policies for ports, IP addresses and segments, as well as applications. The Friendly Net Detection, created by NCP engineering, forces the network to identify itself to the device, preventing any data packet transfer until a safe network is detected.
Configuration and policy logic can be easily set and managed centrally or through the NCP Secure Entry Client itself. This ease of use is expected to help drive adoption and acceptance throughout the target market.

"NCP engineering is the only universal VPN client provider we could find that offered both XP 64-bit and Vista compatibility while not forcing vendor lock on us," said Reza Vaziri, IT manager, Viigo.
"Like most companies today, we have a mixed OS environment and having our security policies influenced by the deficiencies of a client software is not an option for us. The efficiency of our remote staff and the security of our network can now be maximized,” added Vaziri.
"A company like Viigo is intimately aware of the importance of allowing people to be effectively mobile -- this is the essence of their products and their business," said Simon Ford, international director, NCP engineering.
"Our focus for the past 20-plus years has been to make network security easy, seamless and transparent to everyone but hackers and ne'er-do-wells."
A 30-day trial version of NCP Secure Entry Client offering unrestricted use is available online at: http://www.ncp-e.com/en/downloads/software.html.
Network compatibility and security are critical for any device and any user as information that is not protected could easily be at risk. When using a VPN, the company and the user expects that its information is protected and that all processes will perform as promised. Viigo’s selection of NCP engineering is expected to deliver such assurance, helping to promote the company as a leader in its field.
